Warehouse Consulting Services

Poor warehouse performance rarely announces itself clearly. It shows up as missed picks, congested aisles, rising labour costs, and operations that struggle to scale.

Our warehouse consultants take a data-led approach to identifying the root causes — and delivering practical improvements to layout, process, materials flow, and resource utilisation.

Warehouse Layout & Design

Inefficient layouts create waste that compounds across every shift. Our warehouse consultants use your operational data to analyse current capacity, storage configuration, pick face design, and materials flow. We develop 2D and 3D layout proposals — for existing facilities or new builds — that optimise space utilisation, reduce travel time, and accommodate efficient flow from inbound through to despatch.

Process & Materials Flow

Warehouse performance is determined as much by how work flows as by how space is configured.

Our supply chain consultants map current process and materials flows, identify bottlenecks and waste, and design improved methods using lean principles.

Simulation and scenario planning allow us to test proposed changes before implementation — reducing risk and building confidence in the solution.

Capacity Planning & Resource Optimisation

Capacity constraints and labour inefficiency are among the most common — and costly — warehouse challenges.

Our warehouse consultants analyse activity volumes, demand patterns, and resource utilisation to identify where capacity is being lost.

We develop practical plans to improve MHE and labour productivity, balance workloads, and ensure your operation can flex to meet changing demand.

Automation & Technology

Automation decisions require a clear business case grounded in operational reality.

Our supply chain consultants assess the case for automation across your warehouse operation — evaluating options, modelling returns, and developing a realistic roadmap.

We bring independence to the process, ensuring technology decisions are driven by your operational requirements rather than vendor preference.

FAQs

There is no charge for an initial consultation.

From this we prepare a draft scope of what you need us to deliver with a fixed quote.   This provides clarity on the deliverables and the costs before there is a commitment to proceed.

Our fees vary depending on the scale and scope of an engagement but in setting the scope, we aim to design an engagement that will deliver a positive return on the investment in our services.

A typical warehouse redesign project will have initial results in 3-4 weeks from when we get access to the site and to data.

These results frequently present design options along with recommendations.

It is not unusual with clients to spend additional time refining design options or addressing underlying inventory or process issues in parallel with design improvements.

We work with companies of all sizes and across all industries from manufacturers, to distributors, retailers, logistics providers and utility providers.

The initial consultation is a good opportunity to set expectations on the likely costs and benefits from an engagement and make a decision to proceed.

Our approach is rooted in your data and operational requirements.

Most of the information we will need will be readily accessible from your existing WMS or operational systems – raw data on daily receipts, shipments, returns, internal moves (where applicable),  inventory location data.

The most common challenge we face with clients is the quality of some of their master data – lead times, dimensional data – but we have established ways of dealing with such deficits.

Warehouse performance has a direct impact on service levels, costs, and your ability to grow.

Our warehouse consultants are ready to assess your current operation and identify the improvements that will make the biggest difference.
